The Peace Of God

Hey Beauty Boss,
The other day, I was talking to God about my business. I’m still wondering what’s next. I know this idea of me freely sharing is not from me. I know that he has a plan, but I’m not quite sure what it is, and I’m okay with that. Over the last 2 years, I’ve learned I struggle a great deal with delayed obedience. I wait and wait and wait to do things because I’m not sure how it will work out. And if I can be honest, most of the things God places in my heart, I’m not jumping for joy to do. Most of the reasons go back to not feeling qualified, not having the time, or simply not aligning with my plans.
Last Thursday, I did what God placed in my heart. I hosted a virtual meeting to connect, share ideas, and encourage other businesswomen. It’s the very thing I hoped to do within my Facebook group “The Beauty Boss Lounge.” The same group I’ve been disappointed with for the past 2 years. The same group with which I struggle to be consistent or build a community. The enemy will have you feeling pretty disappointed in yourself if you sit in those thoughts too long.
I hosted the meeting on Thursday, and I felt so refreshed afterward. I ended the meeting with so much joy and peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes, our ideas and desires don’t come to pass in the timeframe or in the way we thought they would. This can be discouraging. It can prevent us from wanting to do the next thing, because the last thing didn’t work out. I encourage you to keep pressing on. You never know what you are going to learn, how you will grow, how your faith will be strengthened, or how God will use you along the way.
