My Easy Small Business Schedule
Share
Hey Beauty Boss,
Hope you are having a good week. Today I want to talk about having a work schedule.
For the first few years of entrepreneurship, I did not want a schedule. I enjoyed the freedom of being able to run my day as I saw fit based on the priorities. That worked, but it wasn’t efficient. It was very reactive. Then I started using a planner and making a daily to-do list. I loved that, until I realized this still wasn’t very efficient. Yes, I was in more control of my day with a planner, but there was little consistency.
Now, I can’t work in time blocks. I thoroughly enjoy having a free-flowing day. I don’t like being tied to a clock, but I do enjoy a checklist. That’s why I liked the planner so much. While I was using my planner as a daily to-do list, I wasn’t thinking ahead much unless I was planning a launch or sales campaign.
I’ve been doing this for a few months now, and it works well. I wake up and know what I need to focus on, without being tied to a clock or a long list of random to-dos.
Weekly
Monday and Tuesday - I handle production & prep emails to be sent out
Wednesday and Friday - pack and ship orders, check inventory on Fridays
Thursday - record YouTube & catch up day
Monthly
1st of the month - P/L statement, SEO results, website data
This is what I do now. It’s easy and simple. Now granted, in the middle of a busy season like Black Friday or a big product launch, the schedule will shift. When plans fail, and you drop the ball, pause and give yourself grace. When life happens, and you need to rest, give yourself grace.
I hope this was helpful!
Let me know if you have a daily schedule or plan to start one!
With love,
