Share
Hey {{ person.first_name|default:'Beauty Boss' }},
Last week, I showed you what you needed to add to your homepage to make it stand out. If you missed it, click here to watch the replay.
This week, we are going to talk about how to optimize your collection page. Most business owners don’t do much to their collection page but add products and maybe an image, but there is so much more that goes into a collection page that converts.
Visitors are more likely to click on a collection on a website rather than a single product page, so you want to optimize each collection page.
Key Elements of a Top Tier Collection Page:
1. Title
Make sure your collection title is clear and searchable. This is an SEO opportunity! Use words your customer is actually typing into Google.

2. Description
Add a short description under your title that explains what this collection is and who it is for. Keep it 2-3 sentences and include keywords naturally to increase SEO.

3. Collection Image or Banner
Use a strong, high quality image at the top of your collection to set the tone. This is the first visual impression of that collection. All collection images need to be same size. Make sure file names include SEO.

4. Product Images (make sure reviews are visible on collection pages)
All product images should be the same size, style, and background. Inconsistency makes your page look unpolished and can reduce trust. Make sure file names include SEO.

5. Product Naming
Your product names should be clear so visitors know exactly what they are looking at without having to click.

6. Product Sorting and Filtering
Give visitors a way to sort by best sellers, price, or skin concern. This is especially important for collections that have several products.

Check how your collection page looks on mobile. For mobile, you only want to show 2 columns.

8. Search Engine Listing
Inside Shopify, you can edit your page title and meta description for every collection page. This is separate from your collection title and description and is specifically what shows up in Google search results. Make sure both are filled out with keywords your customer is searching.

Lastly, you can customize what’s on your collection page in Shopify. Mine looks something like this:
- Collection Title
- Collection Description
- Products
- Customer Reviews
- Email Opt In
- Browse other collections
Next week, we are going over your product page because once a visitor clicks on a product page from your collection, your product page has one job. It needs to close the sale.
