How To Overcome Fear In Your Business
Share
Hey Beauty Boss,
This is how fear is defined on Google - to be afraid of (someone or something) as likely to be dangerous, painful, or threatening
Many of us struggle with fear of failure, unworthiness, judgement, or shame. We may fear that if we do something and it doesn’t work, it threatens our name or livelihood. It’s important that we get to the root of the thing or person that is causing the fear, instead of being stuck there.
When I looked at the fear in my own life as it relates to decision making in business, I found that it’s often an insecurity I have within myself.
I feel that I’m not enough, and because I’m not enough, whatever I do won’t be enough.
This is a lie. A plain lie. But I’ve told myself it for so long, it seemed like the truth to me.
The truth is I, alone, am not enough. But I am not alone. I have Jesus wherever I go, and in whatever I do. And if I know I have Jesus then I have nothing to fear.
In Matthew 14:22-26, we learn about the disciples out at sea when a storm came. The waves were crashing against the boat. Then, came Jesus walking on water. Initially, the disciples thought it was a ghost and they were terrified. They began to cry out in fear.
How often do we see something and call it something different, and scare ourselves out of doing what God has put on our heart? I’ll admit this has been a battle of mine too many times to count.
Then in Matthew 14:27, the Bible tells us, “But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid.”
We have nothing to fear. Jesus is with us. If we would just cry out to him we will find him right in the middle of the storm with us.
Below is a recent video I posted yesterday about overcoming fear. I hope this email and this video will be an encouragement to you in times of fear.
With love,
