How To Avoid Business Burnout
Share
Some days, it’s exciting. Other days, it’s exhausting.
If you’ve been feeling tired, discouraged, or just overwhelmed—you're not alone. I've been there many times.
Let me gently remind you:
God did not call you to build your business in your own strength. He did not call you to do it on your own. And he certainly did not give you this gift to draw you away from him.
He’s not asking you to do more, hustle harder, or figure it all out on your own. He’s asking you to stay close. To trust. To lean in when you're tempted to lean away. I'm not saying it won't require work, but first we have to focus on his kingdom.
Here are 4 things I do when I feel burned out:
-
Pray. Keep praying.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause and ask, “Lord, what do yo want me to do?" I encourage to continue to ask God for direction and clarity. He knows best! -
Prioritize the important things.
Open the Word before you open your inbox. You’ll be surprised how your day shifts. Continue to prioritize your relationship with the Lord over your business. And don't neglect the important people in your life for your business. Love God and love people first. -
Be productive, not busy.
Think about what you must do in your business today, rather than focusing on every single thing you would like to do. A planner is helpful for this. Write down your to do list and focus on getting the necessary things done first. - Have some grace for yourself.
You will drop the ball sometimes. You will forget to do that thing that should have been done. It's okay. Life is going to move on and your business isn't going to fall apart. Lean into the grace and peace we have from our Lord and Savior.
I hope this email was helpful. Business is hard. It's a lot to keep up with especially when you have other people to take care of. But God equips us to keep pressing on.
With love,
